Anglerfish

Antennariidae

Idenification:

Anglerfishes are more common in tropical waters. They have different appearances, shapes, sizes and colours such as red, yellow, orange, brown, green white and black. In Sydney, there are also a wide range of anglerfishes in different forms and colours. All anglerfishes have common unique features but diffirent appearances such as lure to attract their prey, large mounth and hidden gills.

  

Distribution:

The anglerfishes can be found in coastal waters around the world, especially in tropical waters. In Australia, they can often be found by divers along the east and west coasts. In Sydney, various types and colours of anglerfish can be found at Clifton Gardens. The red-fingered anglerfish can be found at Bare Island.
